2DRoad is the world's first non-invasive weather camera which offers a full multi-lane description of the road with a detection area up to 6 x 6 metres and a 64 x 64 = 4096 pixel detection resolution. 2DRoad distinguishes between 7 road surface statuses: dry, moist, wet, slush, snow, bright ice, and black ice as well as estimates a road surface friction.
Easy Installation
2DRoad can be mounted on any pole or portal, using stock clamps. Average installation time is <4 hours.
Completely Non-Invasive
2DRoad scans the whole road profile and remotely detects 64 x 64 = 4096 road condition and road friction points.
Integrated Camera & Pyrometer
2DRoad includes a camera that offers a visual output of road conditions and a pyrometer that measures road surface temperature.
Full Multi-Lane Description
2DRoad fuses these data and offers a full contextual description of road conditions in the whole road profile. 2DRoad can detect on an area up to 6 x 6 metres.
Data Logging Functionality
2DRoad can be extended with other RWS Sensors. Temperature, Humidity, Pressure (THP) and THP + Wind Speed & Direction Sensors have already been integrated and tested - and are sold via this website.

Installation
The sensor and the flasher can be mounted on any post or portal using stock clamps. Measuring distance can vary between 4 and 8 metres with an inclination angle between 10 and 60 degrees from the vertical. Sensor height defines the extent of the scanned area - as small as a single lane, but as large as two full lanes.

Visual Outputs
The camera takes a conventional grayscale image with every measurement which is the foundation of user output. The classified road status is presented as a colored overlay. This gives a clear graphic representation of present road conditions.
